  • Attention Best of Bolts committee members, stop by Mr. Kaltenbach’s office and sign up for card handouts.
  • If you enjoy working with others and getting to know new people, consider being a peer tutor.  Please see Mrs. Espy in room 3103 if you have questions and to pick up an application.
  • There will be a track meeting next Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 3 pm. For all young men interested in being a member of the Northmont Mens track team.If you have any questions see Coach Broerig.
  • Is leadership in your future? Do you like helping others? Do you like making a difference in the world with your time and energy? Then maybe you should consider becoming a candidate for our newly forming Northmont Student Leadership Team. The team will combine the leadership abilities of our 7th-12th grade students and their passion for helping others. They are seeking 24 students, that desire to be coached to excellence in service and leadership. You will learn and implement the principles of service-learning as you put into action your leadership as we impact the 5000 students within our district. Meetings will be on Mondays after school starting in March through the end of the year. If you are interested in this leadership opportunity, please pick up an application in the main office.  Applications are due by Monday, February the 19th. If you have questions, email Mrs. Coffman.
  • Students if you are interested in being a part of the TNT News Broadcast, Journalism, or Yearbook, don’t forget to turn in your hot pink application to Mrs. Brannon. We are looking for news anchors and studio engineers for next year! Applications are available in the Counseling Center or in Room 3218.
  • On March 20, all Juniors will take the ACT and all Sophomores will take the preACT.  Juniors are required by the state to participate in this testing and Northmont administers the preACT to Sophomores to provide more information about students’ college and career readiness to students, families, and teachers. This testing will be held from 7:50 until 11:45.  After testing, they will be dismissed from school.  Transportation will be provided, however lunch will not be served. Sophomores and Juniors who need extended time to take their test as specified on their IEP or 504 will remain at school the entire day.  Lunch will be available for these students as usual. CTC students take the ACT at the CTC.  Please contact the counselors at the CTC for more information regarding testing dates and times. Students who have an IEP and work with Mrs. Espy, Mrs. Morgret, Mrs. Burch, Mrs. Whitten and Mr. Lopez will have a normal school day. Freshmen and seniors will NOT report to school.  Freshmen will be assigned work by their teachers to complete at home and seniors will need to fill out a Google form to indicate what college/career planning activities they will be spending their day on.  The needed assignments and forms will be released to freshmen and seniors in March.
  • Any girl interested in participating in track and field this spring needs to see Coach Barnes in Room 3200 throughout the school day to pick up an informational packet. The season begins March 5. All athletes must have an up to date physical to participate.

  • Are you looking for an exciting class to take next year?  It is not too late to apply for Digital Marketing to learn about social media trends, entrepreneurship to learn the skills necassary to own your very own business and be your own boss, and marketing to learn about why items cost as much as they do and why companies advertise to you. All these classes allow you the ability to be  a member of DECA!!  Any questions or an application stop by room 4101 and ask Mr. Wagner or room 4101 and ask Ms. Butler.
  • Attention Juniors: There is a Prom Committee meeting this Today, February 23 at 2:50 PM in Mrs. Marshall’s room.  If you are on the committee or would like to join, please come.  We will be finalizing the decorations and the favors.
  • Attention! Any girl interested in participating in Track and Field this Spring should plan on attending the informational meeting on Tuesday, February 27. We will meet on the Spanish steps right after school and the meeting will begin at 3pm. This meeting should be over no later than 3:30pm.
  • Northwood is looking for a high school student volunteer who would like to tutor a 3rd grade boy. If you are interested in helping this 3rd grader or any other elementary student who may need a mentor or tutor, please contact Mrs. Coffman.  Sign up sheets to tutor are available in the Counseling Center Office.
  • Juniors and Sophomores, Did you know February 28 is on a Wednesday this year?  Do you wonder why that is important? It’s important because many of you have Northmont LINK CREW applications which is awesome!  If you still need one, you may pick it up in the Counseling Center. Make sure the BLUE application is turned in by Wednesday Feb. 28.  We will be scheduling interviews for mid-March so please get your application in now.  We don’t want to miss the opportunity to include you in our group!
